Héctor Lavoe - La Voz (1975)

Having spent the last eight years serving as the vocalist for Willie Colon's incredible band, Héctor Lavoe decided to make his own solo album. And dear God did he get that one right! With two of the most instantly recognizable salsa tracks in El Todopoderoso and Mi Gente this album is right up there on anybody's list of must have salsa albums.

Personnel include: Hector Lavoe (vocals); Ray Maldonado, Hector Zarzuela (trumpet); Tom Malon, Jose Rodgrigues (trombone); Mark Dimond (piano); Eddie "Guagua" Rivera (bass guitar); Milton Cardona (conga drum); Jose Mangual, Jr. (bongos); Nicky Marrero (timbales); Ruben Blades, Willie Colon, Willie Garcia (background vocals).

1. El Todopoderoso
2. Emborrachame de Amor
3. Paraiso de Dulzura
4. Un Amor de la Calle
5. Rompe Saraguey
